Walton College of Business Advising Center
Walton College advisors in the Walton College Undergraduate Programs Office will help you make thoughtful decisions related to your academic experience and maximize your educational and career opportunities.
Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS+)
The Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS+) is a one-stop academic support office for students. CLASS+ is an integration of the Office of Academic Success and the Quality Writing Center. Students may contact them by email at class@uark.edu or call the CLASS + in Gregson Hall at 479-575-2885.
These units employ approximately 150 peer tutors, 150 Supplemental Instruction leaders, and 2 Academic Coaches. Integrating academic support efforts will simplify a number of experiences for students and will allow the center to expand its initiatives to students.
CLASS+ will have one primary location on the Garden Level of Gregson Hall, one website (class.uark.edu), and one communication plan, which will simplify the student referral process for faculty and staff.
The basic message from CLASS+ to students is simple— go to class, get engaged in the learning process, plus get the support your need to succeed. CLASS+ exists to provide students with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom: +Tutoring, +Writing Support, +Supplemental Instruction, +Academic Coaching.
Undergraduate academic tutoring -Freshman and Sophomore level
NOTE: Graduate students may inquire at CLASS + to see if any of the tutors there can accommodate graduate level tutoring on a case-by-case basis. Students may view the CLASS + website for more information on their tutoring services, or to make an appointment at the Class + website. You may also call them with any questions at 479-575-2885 or email them at elc@uark.edu . Or visit them at the Garden Level of Gregson Hall (across the street from Brough Dining Hall and Club Red.)
Writing Support
This is a great source of help for improving essays, papers, and other writing assignments for editing, corrections, etc. They offer several programs for assisting students. They have on-line and face-to-face tutoring available. You may view the Class+ Writing Support website. You may also call them to schedule an appointment at 479-575-6747 or email them at uawrite@uark.edu. They are located in Kimpel Hall 315 and they have a satellite location in Mullins Library near the entrance to the Periodicals Room, with peer tutors available Sunday-Thursday.
UA Library- Mullins Library
Mullins Library offers an extensive support system for research projects, including books, journal articles, maps, interlibrary loan and thesis/dissertation support. Visit Mullins Library or access the library holdings and more information on their website at University Libraries or call them at 479-575-4104.
Math Resource and Teaching Center (MRTC)
The MRTC offers student resources for tutoring in mathematics and statistics. You may view their website for information on their hours, locations, and all information at the Mathematics Resource and Teaching Center. They are located in the Champions Hall (CHPN) building located next to the PHYSICS building across the street from BELL Engineering.
Student Technology Center (STC)
The STC provides hardware, software, and technical support for students with multimedia-based projects. They are located in the Arkansas Union, 3rd Floor. You may view their website at the Student Technology Center for additional information or call them at 479-575-8602.
Information Technology Services
On the main IT Services website, email account information and set up, links to technology and multimedia resources, web resources. Their staff can assist students with questions related to email accounts and other IT problems or services.
